If there’s one thing you should be using to look younger it’s hand cream. No seriously, your hands are one of the biggest snitches when it comes to revealing your age so it’s about time you started a daily hand cream routine and stat! I love nothing more than giving my hands a quick boost with a fabulous cream and as a result have fallen in and out of love with a lot of hand creams over the years. So, I thought why not share my personal favourites with you in an easy-to-use guide. Here are 3 hand creams I am simply smitten with!

1. L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream

This little guy from L’Occitane is a treat of note. It’s non-greasy and absorbs super quickly leaving your hands baby soft and smelling great. If you have super dry hands then this is the hand cream of your dreams!

Loccitane Hand Cream

Worth the splurge? At R120 for the 30ml tube and R330 for the 150ml tube it’s not exactly cheap but you only use the tiniest amount when applying the cream so it will last for ages. Available from the L’Occitane South Africa online shop and L’Occitane stand-alone stores in Sandton City, Johannesburg and Cavendish Connect, Cape Town.

2. Elizabeth Arden 8-Hour Hand Cream

We all know and love Elizabeth Arden’s famous Eight Hour Cream (if you don’t know get to know it because it’s pretty much liquid gold!) but did you know there was a hand cream version of the legendary stuff? This magic hand cream has a super creamy texture and soaks in fast. It works wonders for dry and tired hands and you can still feel it working on your hands after washing with soapy water, minimising the amount of times you need to reapply throughout the day – true story!

Elizabeth Arden

Worth the splurge? At R196 for 75 ml this little gem is definitely worth every penny! Try it once and you won’t go back. Available online at at the Red Square online store and from Red Square stores.

3. Crabtree and Evelyn Lavender Hand Therapy

The name says it all! This stuff is like shock therapy for the hands and contains shea butter and lavender oil. It leaves the hands feeling super soft and smooth and is the perfect companion when doing home manis and pedis. If you hate lavender then rejoice because it also comes in a bunch of other fragrances to suit your nose.

Crabtree hand cream

Worth the splurge?  At R180 for a large tube this hand cream is a great buy and will last you ages and ages. Keep it in your hand bag for a quick treat when you need it most.
