For some of the best views of Table Mountain, while you dine on fragrant northern and southern style curries, Maharajah has become something of an Indian food institution in the Cape. Think heavenly Tandooris, biryanis, kebabs, shwarmas and made-while-you-wait naan breads. Prices are very reasonable and portions are massive so go hungry!

4. Bombay Chilli
For those in the Southern Suburbs with a hankering for a good curry, Bombay Chilli has branches in Muizenberg and Plumstead. With strong north Indian influences, this cozy, casual bistro-like spot is loved for its mouthwatering homemade naan bread, roti rolls and extensive curry menu.
