Joburgers get excited because a brand new fitness craze is about to hit your city! Bounce, a new spring-loaded urban playground for free jumping is set to open its door in Johannesburg in the coming months and we’ve got all the details on this super fun gym space for kids and adults alike. Free jumping is the latest in fun fitness and offers a range of different types of exercises for everyone to enjoy. At Bounce hard surfaces are replaced with circus-grade sponge and spring and bouncers are encouraged to get active and have loads of fun while they’re at it. At this unique gym the wall becomes the floor and every surface is reachable – it’s a world where a slam-dunk is within your grasp and the rules of gravity no longer apply. Bounce promises visitors a space that is jam packed with things to do – whether you are a kid or an adult. The gym takes the rush of being airborne and adds a bunch of new dimensions – from aerial manoeuvres and slam dunking to wall running and dodgeball warfare there’s lots to get you sweating it out.
The WomenStuff team can’t wait to check out this new spot and with more than 100 interconnected trampolines housed within the huge, colourful space it is sure to be nothing short of an epic experience. We love the idea that bouncing can be as easy or as challenging as you like – the space serves as a training ground for aerial sports acrobatics, a place to kick back and look out over the action, or just a hard-core form of exercise that lets you burn energy without noticing you’re in the middle of a cardio workout.
Head to the The Wall to practice your parkour, get more comfortable with your jumps while launching yourself into the super cushy Big Bag, loosen up in the Free Jump area where you can get familiar with the trampolines, live your dream of being a basketball star in the Slam Dunk area, get competitive in the Dodge Ball arena or go all out at the 5×5 Super Tramp. And, if you’re not quite sure where to start then chat to one of their friendly staff members who will offer you plenty of safety tips and show you a few moves while they’re at it.
Bounce will also offer super fun BOUNCE FIT classes with a more structured exercise regime for those who want guidelines while they’re at the gym. The classes will be 45 minutes long and offer high intensity low-impact cardio workouts with all the benefits of free jumping.
