Yes ladies, the rumours are true, bubbly on tap is now a thing in South Africa thanks to local company, Fizzecco. While the concept has existed for a little while in other parts of the world, the new bubbly dispensers are a first in South Africa and we can’t wait to try it.

The Fizzecco system, which is made from recyclable kegs, dispenses a chilled sparkling wine through a rather beautiful-looking tap, to ensure a fresh, cold glass of bubbly every time. We’re sure we don’t need to tell you that an open bottle of bubbly loses 30 bubbles per second so this new system is all about keeping your favourite sparkling wine as fresh and delicious as possible.

For now, Fizzecco only offers one varietal for events, restaurants, and more. Made from a high-quality blend of Sauvignon and Chenin blanc, the Fizzecco Brut is a great choice for any pallet. Frizzecco claims that their version is not as dry as your traditional Brut and not as sweet as sweetened sparklers. But, if Brut isn’t your thing then you’ll be thrilled to know that there are more bubbly options in the works.

Fizzecco is available at selected restaurants around the country including Craft Burger Bar (Sea Point), Praia Morena (Cape Town CBD), The Pizza Shack (Ottery), Craft Wheat & Hops (Stellenbosch), King Fisher Restaurant (George), and, The Blind Pig (Wilderness). Fizzecco taps and bubbly stations are also available to hire for weddings, festivals, and more.
