With several popular Western Cape restaurants under his belt, celebrity chef Reuben Riffel is finally setting his sights further afield in SA. If you’re based in Joburg, soon there will be no need to fly all the way to Cape Town for a taste of Reuben Riffel’s famous cuisine because the chef has just announced that he will be opening another location for his much-loved, Reuben’s restaurant in Gauteng!
Located in Sandton, Johannesburg the large 100-seater eatery will be Riffel’s very first Gauteng restaurant and will have a similar focus to that of the Franschhoek location. The menu at Reuben’s Sandton promises to showcase both local and global flavours in both new dishes and classics that fans have come to love on the Reuben’s menu.
Think dishes like a Peppered Springbok Steak (with sweet and sour cherries, roasted butternut, pancetta, fondant potatoes, game jus, and walnuts), Braised Beef Cheeks (with sriracha glazed with Vietnamese Pho broth, noodles, bok choy and ginger), and Prawn Fritters (with onion, ginger relish, Argentinian prawn tails, and peri-peri cream).
Opening on 1 August 2018, Reuben’s Sandton will call The Capital Moloko Hotel home offering both lunch and dinner seven days a week to hotel guests and Joburg local alike.
