In a moment of pure genius, the local ice cream spot has announced that it will be serving a new variety of oh-so-decadent ice cream doughnuts. Yes, just when you thought doughnuts couldn’t be any more delicious, these clever sausages have decided to stuff them with gourmet ice cream – what a time to be alive!
Cookies & Cream took to its Facebook page this week to announce the arrival of the Bun Bun – a doughnut stuffed with ice cream and toasted before being served. The little creation is said to be the perfect combination of crispy and creamy, hot and cold and the store will be serving them every Saturday between 11:00 and 13:00. Each week will see a new flavour combination being introduced so you’ll want to get down there every weekend to try them all. But, hurry – they will only be serving 50 every Saturday so it’s a first-come-first-serve kind of thing.
If the name sounds familiar, Cookies & Cream has recently been creating waves on the Cape Town foodie scene thanks to a range of fluffy bubble waffles and ice cream sandwiches. The great thing about this spot is that their ice cream is still made the old fashioned way, using milk, fresh cream, eggs, sugar, and natural flavours. If you miss out a Bun Bun then make sure you stay to try a bubble waffle. The deliciously fluffy waffle is served wrapped around your choice of ice cream (think flavours like Peanut Butter, Butter Caramel, Cupcake Frosting, and more) and topped with a selection of toppings.
