Every year on 9 August we celebrate Women’s Day in South Africa. Most of us are pretty excited because it means getting the day off on the following Monday but let’s not forget what this important public holiday is actually about; acknowledging the strength, solidarity, and determination of the phenomenal women of our nation. The 9th of August is all about celebrating what makes women truly unique and powerful. If you’re still unsure of what you’ll be doing this Women’s Day then the DIVAS UNITE concert is the perfect way to celebrate.

This unique annual event will take place at the iconic Cape Town City Hall and celebrates the mothers, the wives, the sisters and the daughters of our rainbow nation in a charity concert in support of breast cancer awareness. Funds raised from the concert will go to ‘Project Flamingo’ – a local charity assisting women to gain access to early and decent treatment for breast cancer.

Men, women, families, friends, children, couples and music lovers alike are invited to watch a unique line-up of inspirational female artists on stage from 15:00 on the day. With performances from the lead singer of Freshlyground, Zolani Mahola; top SA Soprano Master, Magdalene Minnaar; SAMA Award-winning instrumental pop group Sterling EQ and many more DIVAS UNITE is not to be missed!

General admission tickets for the concert will be sold at R290 through Computicket and includes complimentary Pongracz bubbly, tea and coffee as well as delicious cupcakes and other snacks during interval and after the concert. Tickets for children aged 8 – 12 will be sold for R210.
