Ladies, brace yourselves for the best news ever – super famous French patisserie, PAUL is coming to South Africa! Famous Brands announced the partnership with the French bakery early on 17 November and we can’t help but freak a little (ok, a lot!) The family-owned French chain of bakery-cafés was established in 1889 in Croix, Northern France and now, years later PAUL has partnered with operators in 41 countries across the globe.
“PAUL is unique in that the business is rooted in French baking tradition which dates back 120 years and five generations,” says Famous Brands’ Group Chief Executive, Kevin Hedderwick. “While the product offering is classically French, innovation and continuous development of new breads, viennoiseries, patisseries, seasonal sandwiches and other meals, is constantly woven into the fabric of the brand’s offering and experience. At the heart of PAUL’s values is a passion for craftsmanship, quality and tradition,” Hedderwick added.
PAULS is known for its range of exquisite cakes and bakes and soon South Africans will be able to enjoy PAUL’s authentic offering, served in its trademark French-style restaurants around South Africa. Famous Brands plans to open five PAUL restaurants in South Africa over a five-year period with stores being in three trading formats. The first flagship PAUL restaurant in South Africa is scheduled to open by the end of 2016. We’ll certainly be counting down the days!
Famous Brands is yet to confirm dates or locations for the first store opening but you can be sure that we will be keeping our ears and eyes peeled for the upcoming announcement. Keep your eyes glued to WomenStuff for more updates soon.
