Markets are a big deal in Cape Town and the weekend Oranjezicht City Farm Market, has become a popular spot for locals looking for sustainable grocery shopping options. Located in Granger Bay at the V&A Waterfront, the market boasts a spectacular setting and a wide variety of stalls offering both  delicious meals made to be enjoyed at the market as well as fresh ingredients to take home. Previously, the market was only open once a week on Saturdays but the organizers have just announced that it will now be open on both Saturday and Sunday every week!

This sustainable market supports local farmers in the Western Cape and as of this month, you can do your weekly shop at the market on either Saturday or Sunday each week. The popular farm market boasts an array of high quality produce and other staples like dairy, eggs, seafood (think ocean-fresh oysters and mussels), special cuts of meat, poultry, game meat, cured meats, special oils and vinegars, as well as freshly baked goods. Also available are plants and other homeware accessories to spruce up your home for summer.

The addition of a Sunday market day means that Capetonians will now be able to access fabulous farm goodies twice weekly. Not only does this help customers, it also provides more business opportunities for the 28 local farmers who supply the market with fresh produce each weekend. Priding itself in providing exceptional local goods, the market promises fresh, healthy, seasonal food that also strengthens local economies, as well as helping the environment.

The Oranjezicht City Farm market is open on Saturdays from 09:00 to 14:00 and Sundays from 09:00 to 15:00.
