A stunning new apartment-style hotel is on its way to completion in Cape Town’s prestigious Foreshore area. The Onyx, part of the Newmark Hotels portfolio and built in conjunction with developer Signatura, is set to open in mid-2018 in what will be a dramatic transformation of the 1960’s era Nedbank Heerengracht building.

Featuring 120 fully serviced luxury suites in the most ideal of locations, the building is the latest commercial development in the area to receive a much-needed up-do. And, because it’s situated in the heart of the Mother City, it’s set to be a central hub and sought-after attraction for locals and travellers alike, making it the proverbial jewel in the Cape’s crown.

Neil Markovitz, MD of Newmark Hotels says, “The recent facelift to the Foreshore has made the area a hotspot and the addition of the hotel adds a modern sophistication to the area.”

With unparalleled views of Table Mountain to one side and the bay on the other, The Onyx will be but a stone’s throw away from the city’s gems such as the CBD, Artscape Theatre, CTICC and the V&A Waterfront, the latter to which there will be daily shuttles.
