Love beer? Why not ease your way into the new year with a fun foodie activity that is sure to bring back that holiday feeling. The market for craft beer in SA has exploded in recent years with people becoming more experimental in trying more diverse, natural varieties of the popular drink and South African alone boasts a whopping 156 microbreweries in operation. With about half of the country’s craft brewers situated in the Western Cape, Cape Town is a bit of a haven for beer lovers looking to try something different. Here are some top spots to explore Cape Town’s beer and brewery scene.

No matter where you are in Cape Town, an iced cold craft beer is never far away. If you’re in central Cape Town you don’t have to travel far to find unique beers, just pop into The Table Bay Hotel at the V&A Waterfront. Last year the hotel made history by becoming one of the first South African hotels to brew its own artisanal beer. Produced in collaboration with Darling Brewery, locals are able to enjoy The Table Bay craft beer at the V&A Waterfront and nowhere else!
