Keen to try something a little bit unusual? Hendrick’s Gin isn’t known for going with the grain and this month’s Cocktail Discovery Series is no different. They’re inviting you to indulge your sense of humour with their rather peculiar concoction with their Catnip & Cucumber Cooler. By now, we’ve all no doubt seen those hilarious videos of cats being petrified of cucumbers and this month Hendrick’s has decided to restore the peace between the two warring partners by calling a truce with this refreshing spring tipple.

Considered one of their more unusual cocktails, the combination of infused catnip leaves, cucumber, lemon, Elderflower and apple is a sensory adventure! Cooling and refreshing, you can put your feet up with this little sipper and not frighten the cats away! In fact, the aromas will calm the kitties – especially since the cucumber is most definitely submerged and out of sight!

Here’s how to make your own:

Catnip & Cucumber Cooler

Ingredients:

50ml Hendrick’s Gin
20ml Fresh lemon juice
10ml Elderflower cordial
8-12 Leaves of catnip
20ml Cloudy apple juice
50ml Fresh cucumber juice

Preparation:

Combine Hendrick’s Gin, lemon, Elderflower and catnip leaves in the base of a tall glass and muddle together. Add in the ice, apple juice and churn. Add more ice, top with soda and garnish with a cucumber wedge and catnip sprig.

Please enjoy the unusual responsibly.
