Ready your spatulas, people! Award-winning leading online retailer Yuppiechef is opening their first official physical store in Cape Town and everyone is abuzz with this awesome news. Beautifully designed by interior design studio ARRCC, the first Yuppiechef brick and mortar store is sure to offer something a little bit different to shoppers with an integrated online and physical shopping experiences using smart technologies.

The first of a few outlets in the pipeline, this new omni-channel shop will open at trendy Willowbridge Shopping Centre in Tyger Valley on 1 October and will showcase the next step for Yuppiechef after 11 successful years in e-commerce. Yuppiechef Managing director, Andre Smith explains that the new venture is a response to a changing dynamic in retail shopping. “Consumers increasingly expect cross-channel capability from brands, and while the assumption is that traditional stores should be moving online, so too is there pressure on online brands to have a physical presence,” says Smith.

The stunning, sophisticated and considered shop, which features a functional test kitchen and a ‘genius bar’ for customers to connect with the online store and continue their shopping experience, offers the opportunity for customers to interact with the products before purchasing, as well as an in-store wedding registry setup, monthly subscriptions and the same, curated Yuppiechef style of wrapping that we’ve become accustomed to.

From its humble beginnings with a product range of just 12 items in Smith’s home lounge and only 200 orders in its first year, Yuppiechef has expanded to over 6000 products from over 400 brands that ships to five countries, and now this new store is its next logical step in its immense growth as a brand. We can’t wait to see what’s next!
