Recipe: Celebrate the Harvest with Apple Pie Coffee Cake

While the 13th of May has come on gone, the remaining days of May offer a great opportunity to keep the harvest celebrations alive. To help you celebrate this year’s harvest in style, Dutoit is sharing this yummy recipe for Apple Pie Coffee Cake.

Apple Pie Coffee Cake

A decadent twist on a classic, this spiced apple bake blends Dutoit Granny Smith apples with cinnamon, coffee, and a hint of indulgence. Perfect for a cosy afternoon treat, or the next morning with your favourite brew.

Ingredients

2 cups granulated sugar

2 cups all-purpose flour

1½ tsp baking powder

1 tsp ground cinnamon

½ tsp ground nutmeg

¼ tsp salt

1 cup whole milk

½ cup vegetable oil

4 large eggs

3 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled and diced

1 cup miniature marshmallows (optional)

½ cup coffee

Method

Preheat oven to 175°C. Line a tin with baking paper and spray with non-stick spray.

In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients.

Add the milk, oil, and eggs. Mix until smooth.

In a baking pan, layer the batter and apples alternately until used up.

Bake for 45–50 minutes. Insert a toothpick to check if the centre is cooked through.

Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Optional: drizzle with caramel sauce. Enjoy!
