Keen for a glass of wine with your dinner on a Wednesday night but don’t want to crack open a whole bottle? Roberston Winery has the perfect solution with its new single-serving canned wines. The first wine brand in South Africa to release a 200ml can that offers the perfect one-glass serving, the Robertson canned wine range has arrived just in time for spring. Offering the perfect glass of wine every time, anytime and anywhere, Robertson’s single-serving cans are perfect for picnics, parties and everything in between.
Well known for offering South African consumers excellent wines at affordable prices, Robertson Winery now offers these same quality wines in a new convenient and environmentally friendly canned packaging. The 200ml can size is a real winner in terms of portion control. With consumers knowing exactly how much they are drinking; the smaller can size is ideal for those following health-conscious and lower alcohol lifestyles. Quick and easy to chill, Robertson Winery Single Serve is the ideal companion for poolside sipping, picnics, braais, parties, hiking, camping, outdoor concerts and other alfresco situations where no glass is allowed.
The canned range includes Robertson Winery Sauvignon Blanc 2019 and Robertson Winery Merlot 2019. Fresh and dry with generous notes of green apples and melons, the Sauvignon Blanc 2019 is delicious on its own or with a summer salad. If you’re more of a red wine fan, the Merlot 2019 is a great choice for a braai. Rich and smooth with ripe punchy plum and sweet black cherry flavours and a velvet finish, this red wine is a winter treat of note.
According to Robertson, the wines are identical to Robertson Winery’s bottled Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot, and the cans provide an excellent oxygen and light barrier, protecting the wine, keeping it fresh, and retaining the aromas and flavours. There’s no metallic taste transfer from the can, thanks to a lining that stops the wine’s acidity from interacting with the metal.
Robertson Winery Single-Serve Sauvignon Blanc 2019 and Merlot 2019 are widely available at bottle stores across South Africa selling at R25 per can. The cans are also available to buy online from the Robertson Winery website.
