Virgin Active HYROX Cape Town 2026 Race Date Confirmed
The wait is over, HYROX South Africa has finally confirmed the first HYROX race dates for 2026 with the announcement of Virgin Active HYROX Cape Town. The third HYROX Cape Town event has been confirmed to return to the CTICC for an epic 3-day race event. With the race falling over a long weekend, HYROX Cape Town will be the first 3-day race to rake place in South Africa.
In addition to the race date announcement, HYROX South Africa also announced a new title sponsor and official Training and Exercise Partner for HYROX South Africa. An email sent out to HYROX South Africa newsletter subscribers announced Virgin Active as the Training and Exercise Partner for HYROX South Africa with the Virgin Active also jumping onboard as the title sponsor for the Cape Town event. A post on Virgin Active’s Instagram also encouraged members to “check the Virgin Active app on Tuesday (29 January) for exclusive member details.
Virgin Active HYROX Cape Town will be held at the CTICC from 3-5 April 2026 with race entries and spectator tickets going live on Thursday, 29 January 2026 at 13:00. This year those taking place can also opt to take advantage of the HYROX Flex Add-On when buying their race entries. Athletes can choose between ‘Lite Flex’ and ‘Flex’ options.
The add-on ‘Flex’ option enables a ticket holder to receive a 100% refund up to 31 days before your race day, 50% refund up to 7 days before your race day, as well as name changes up to 1 day before your race day.
‘Lite Flex’ allows for name changes up to 1 day before your race day. This new add-on gives athletes a lot more flexibility should the be unable to line up at the start on race day. Click here for more information.
The provisional race schedule* published on the HYROX website lists the following categories and dates:
- Friday 3 April 2026: Men (open), Pro Men, Pro Women, Doubles Men, Company Challenge, Women (open), Doubles Women, Doubles Mixed.
- Saturday 4 April 2026: Doubles Women, Men (open), Pro Doubles Women, Pro Doubles Men.
- Sunday, 5 April 2026: Doubles Men, Women (open), Doubles Mixed, Men’s Relay, Mixed Relay, Women’s Relay.
