Great news for whisky and wine lovers in Cape Town, the Wade Bales Wine & Malt Whisky Affair is coming to the Mother City next month! Now in its 9th year, the sophisticated event is sure to delight wine and whisky lovers and new fans of the tipples looking to learn a thing or two about enjoying whisky or wine. The ultimate indulgence for South African whisky lovers and wine enthusiasts and alike, the event will showcase some of the country’s most sought after wines as well as the rarest malt whiskies from around the world.
Taking place at the recently upgraded 15 on Orange Autograph Collection 5 Star Hotel on 10 May, 2019, the event will surely offer something to suit everyone’s palate. Founded and run by renowned wine and spirits nègociant, Wade Bales, the affair showcases a hand selected combination of the best wines and whiskies available in South Africa.
With over 120 premium local wines from fine wineries like Klein Constantia, Bouchard Finlayson, Constantia Glen and Delaire Graff, wine lovers will be in their absolute element. Whisky enthusiasts will also delight in the opportunity to discover over 90 malt whiskies from all around the world. Keep an eye out for internationally renowned distillers such as Bunnahabhain, Bruichladdich, Aberlour, Redbrease and The Glenlivet.
Over and above unlimited tastings of all products, guests can feast on the famous food spread of gourmet cheeses, artisanal breads and antipasti. The real highlight of the evening is the Half-Time Bell (listen out for it!). For a limited period of 15 minutes only, guests will get to taste exclusive and limited editions of ‘under the table’ wine and whiskies.
Limited early bird tickets are available via Quicket at R175 each, and will thereafter revert to R350 per person. Each ticket includes unlimited wine and whisky tastings, a complimentary glass and the food feast.
