Puma Unveils Second Generation of Supermax-Cushion MagMax Nitro 2
Puma’s most cushioned running shoe returns with the MagMax Nitro 2, launching globally on 1 December 2025. Puma says its latest evolution of the max-cushioned running franchise is lighter, smoother, and more responsive than ever. At 15g lighter than the first iteration launched in August 2024, the MagMax Nitro 2 promises to deliver a springier, more energised feel underfoot while maintaining the responsive ride runners rely on. Puma says its updated Nitrofoam midsole works to enhance cushioning and rebound while preserving the consistent performance that made the original MagMax a favourite among runners.
With maximum Nitrofoam cushioning, the shoe is said to provide unmatched bounce and comfort with every step. A premium mesh upper, plush collar, and knitted tongue ensure breathability and a secure fit, keeping runners supported and light on their feet kilometer after kilometer.
“With MagMax Nitro 2, our focus was on enhancing what runners already loved — cushioning and energy — while making the shoe lighter and more responsive. Puma MagMax Nitro 2 will be available to purchase at R3,799 on Puma.com and at Puma retail stores as well as at Takealot, Totalsports and Sports SA from 1 January 2026.
