SA’s First Certified Aesthetic Gynaecologist Opens Practice in CT

The appearance and function of our vaginas is not something women talk about all that often or that openly, but one woman is about to change that. South Africa’s first certified Aesthetic Gynaecologist, Dr Natalia Novikova, has given women struggling with multiple gynaecological issues the chance for healing with the first ever Aesthetic Gynaecology practice in Cape Town. A highly qualified gynaecology surgeon who qualified as a medical doctor over 20 years ago and has had practices in Sydney, Australia, and Cape Town, she is the first in the field of cosmetic gynaecology to be certified by an international body, the European Society of Aesthetic Gynaecology.

Procedures such as Labiaplasty, Vaginoplasty, Labia Fillers, Vaginal Laser Rejuvenation, Clitoral Hood Reduction, Genital Bleaching, G-Spot Amplification and the O-Shot have never before been offered under one roof in South Africa. Not simply about beautification or creating the ‘designer vagina’, many of these procedures assist in helping women who experience problems like painful sex and periods, urinary incontinence, large and uncomfortable labia, vaginismus, post-birth looseness, laxity or a lack of sensation.

“This is an important move for women’s health in South Africa. It is such a new field, so many women have been suffering in silence with problems for which they don’t even know there is a solution,” says Dr Novikova. So far the response has been overwhelmingly positive with women flying in from overseas to see her for procedures.

“Women’s lives are affected emotionally as well as physically by many of the problems they come to me with, they feel empowered when discomfort associated with their condition is gone, or they regain their sexuality, or physical and mental well-being.” says Dr. Novikova.
