Over the past few months the area, particularly Main Road and Regent Road, has welcomed many new eateries and other foodie locations and we’re here to tell you that it’s not slowing down anytime soon. That’ right, very soon the Sea Point Main Road and Regent Road stretch is going to give Cape Town’s most recent foodie hub, Bree Street, a serious run for its money. So, let’s take a look at some of the great spots that are already open on the Sea Point stretch and what’s still to come in the coming months.
Of course, let’s not forget that these restaurants are set to join an already impressive array of existing foodie spots in Sea Point. The area already boasts a super impressive array of eateries offering everything from Indian cuisine to gourmet braai delights. With these new spots being added to the fold it is clear that Sea Point is quickly becoming a sought-after location for new and established eateries looking to peddle their wares to those with plenty of disposable income.
The Main Event:
From burgers to delicious steaks, Sea Point welcomes a wide range of new restaurants to tempt your taste buds.
Jerry’s Burger Bar: (Coming to Sea Point soon!)
Jerry’s Burger Bar is opening its fifth eatery in Cape Town and the great news is they’ve chosen Sea Point as the place to do it! The much-loved burger joint is known for its mouth-watering 100% beef burgers, excellent barbeque chicken wings, and great selection of craft beer and come June 2016 Sea Point regulars won’t have to travel very far to get their hands on Jerry’s juicy buns. The newest Jerry’s Burger Bar will open its doors at the old Mama Tembo’s location this winter and the will, of course, boast the same menu that we’ve all come to know and love from Jerry’s. Our favourite is the Sweet Baby Cheeses with spicy sauce and slices of cheddar and Swiss cheese – it’s a definite must try! For more information say Hi to Jerry’s Burger Bar on Facebook.
The Press Bar and Grill (coming soon to Sea Point!)
Upmarket grill house, The Press Bar & Grill, will be open its doors in Sea Point very soon! Offering burgers, grills, a wide selection of craft beers and a great atmosphere, the new eatery is sure to become a firm favourite with foodies and beer lovers alike. Offering a large indoor and outdoor seating area this spot will be a must-visit in both the summer and winter months and we can’t wait for them to open their doors. Word on the street is we can expect them to open in the next month so keep watching WomenStuff for updates. For more information say Hi to The Press Bar and Grill on Facebook.
Easy Tiger takeaway burger joint (coming soon to Sea Point!)
It seems there’s no stopping the Harbour House Group in 2016 – word on the street is they’re looking to hit Sea Point with a bang. The restaurant team behind Cape Town favourites such as Harbour House, Tiger’s Milk, and Lucky Fish will be pushing ahead with a number of new restaurants this year including a brand new Easy Tiger burger joint in the coming months. Last year the group announced that its existing Lucky Fish takeaway spot on Regent Road Sea Point would soon be converted into an Easy Tiger eatery. The fast-casual burger and craft beer spot won’t be the first burger and craft beer spot in Sea Point but there’s no doubt that their burgers are beyond yummy. This spot will definitely be worth a visit on a night out on the town. For more information say Hi to Easy Tiger on Facebook.
SUNDOO Restaurant (already causing a stir)
Now a few months old, this authentic Indian spot offers hungry visitors to Sea Point a chic and trendy spot to fill their tums. The New York-style Indian Tapas eatery is owned by renowned SA chef, Seelan Sundoo and is still one of the hottest spots on the Sea Point strip. The eatery offers a stylish, intimate environment where diners can enjoy fresh, crispy dosas, mouth-watering biryanis and delicious, traditional tandooris, all made to share and if you’ve ever walked past the spot on a weekend evening then you’ll know that booking is essential! The great news is; there’s a whole family of cake jars for you to choose from including the Chocolate Cake Jar (moist chocolate cake drizzled in salted caramel and dark chocolate ganache, brownie bits, our pretzel bark and toasted marshmallow fluff) and the Apple-Pecan Cake Jar (soft apple and cinnamon cake topped with roasted apple pieces, caramelized pecan nuts and cinnamon buttercream).
