A new month means new content for Netflix. Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty comedy, soppy rom-com or an action-packed thriller, the streaming site has your back. There are loads of humdingers coming your way on Netflix this month, so we thought we’d offer you this handy list of the 5 movies and TV series we’re most excited about watching on Netflix this May.
Wine Country – 10 May
Directed by comedic genius, Amy Poehler, this hilarious Netflix Original film follows a group of long-time friends as they reunite and look back on the past during a holiday to Napa Valley. Wine, hilarious women, and stunning scenery – this movie has it all!
Get Out – 3 May
Directed by Jordan Peele and featuring an incredibly talented cast, this unique thriller became a global sensation after its release in 2017. The story follows a young African-American man visiting his white girlfriend’s parent’s home for the weekend. His uneasiness about their reception of him finally reveals the dark, twisted reality of their small town. If you missed it at the cinema this is your chance to catch this must-watch hit.
Nailed it! Season 3 – 17 May
This Netflix Original series is back for another season with even more chaos in the kitchen! From half-baked doll cakes to delightfully creepy edible clowns, this show is entertainment for the whole family. This hilarious baking show has been a runaway hit from its very first season and the show with terrible bakes and fantastic laughs doesn’t seem to be letting up any time soon.
Beauty and the Beast (2017) – 24 May
Thes breathtaking live-action version of Disney’s classic animated film, Beauty & The Beast, is finally coming to the small screen! This remastered version is sure to delight Disney fans young and old and features Harry Potter star, Emma Watson, as Belle. Just like the original film, the story follows he journey of Belle and a selfish prince who is cursed to become a monster for the rest of his life lest he learns to love.
Tuca & Bertie – 3 May
For something a little bit different try Tuca and Bertie. The animated series follows two bird women called Tuca and Bertie — a carefree toucan and an anxious songbird — who live in the same apartment building and share their crazy lives together. The Netflix orginal is adult animated comedy done right and is sure to be a binge-worthy must this winter.
