If you could capture in a photograph your hope for the future, what it would look like? This is the challenge set by the Orms Frame the Future competition to fellow South Africans, whether amateur or professional photographer – capture what your hope for the future means to you and you could walk away with a Canon EOS 7D Mark II with an 18-135mm lens worth R25 995!

Of course, everyone’s concept of hope is different and dependent on their personal journeys, experiences and outlook, but irrespective, hope is still the state of mind that believes in a positive outcome to any situation in life. Our country is built on hope for the future – our diverse communities, our rich, cultural heritage and overcoming our past together (with, of course, plenty of work still to be done) are all reflections of our collective hope.

There are four themes in the competition, each associated with a colour, that have been identified as capturing the essence of hope, creativity and community: Red for Passion, Green for Community, Black for Energy and Blue for Creativity. All you need to do is capture a photograph of what these themes mean to you.

The Frame the Future competition launched on Heritage day, 24 September and runs until 18 November 2017. The best image each week will be published and accredited in the Orms Frame the Future 2017 photobook. Entrants stand a chance of winning 1 of 8 Orms Photobooks that will feature a selection of winning images. 4 x R1000 vouchers are up for grabs when sharing your image and promoting the campaign by using #FrameTheFuture on social media to encourage people to share the campaign.
