New Rugby, Netball, & Hockey 7s Tournament Comes to Hermanus!

Counting the days until Cape Town 10s in February? The team behind the fun-tastic annual sporting event have got you covered with Walker Bay 7s! Taking place in Hermanus on 22 September, 2018, this one of a kind event will get your heart rate pumping and your excitement levels at a fever pitch for the upcoming Cape Town 10s next year.

The one-day sport extravaganza will be hosted at Hermanus High School and will offer an entire day of sport and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy. With the breathtaking backdrop of Walker Bay, this first-of-its-kind event promises guests a spectacular day filled with fun and entertainment and here’s the cool part: you can even take part.

Whether you’re into netball, hockey, dodgeball or rugby, you can enter a 7s team to compete in this fun, competitive event. Throughout the day, teams will battle it out for the title of The Walker Bay 7s champions in their respective sports and the chance to take home the R15,000 prize money!

Netball, hockey and dodgeball teams can register at R2,000 per team and rugby teams at R3,000 per team. This costs includes entry, a refreshment drink, program, and prize giving ceremony. The best-dressed team will also win free entry into next year’s tournament — so don your fanciest get-up!

Promising to be a sporting spectacle, the Walker Bay 7s will also include a variety of food stalls and a kiddie’s play area to keep everybody entertained. The event also aims to promote the advancement and community of sport so there will be Development Clinics run over the course of the 7s.
