In a powerful highlight aligned with South Africa’s Women’s Month, female participation led the weekend’s field. Women accounted for an impressive 52.4% of the total competing field (with men comprising 47.6%), underlining HYROX’s positioning as a truly inclusive sport and showcasing the incredible strength of women in South African athletics.

The athletic performance was matched by an extraordinary crowd turn-out. A record number of over 11,000 spectators packed the CTICC across the weekend, creating a loud carnival of support. This atmosphere was elevated by the vibrant sounds of a Cape Town Minstrel Orchestra, which performed across all three days and brought authentic local culture straight to the race floor.

Simon Goldsbrough, HYROX South Africa Race Director, shared in the enthusiasm: “Cape Town brought unforgettable energy this weekend. Leading with a majority female field during Women’s Month, coupled with the local spirit of the minstrel orchestra, made this one of our most iconic events to date. An impact that goes beyond race weekend

Beyond the competition, the event delivered a meaningful community impact initiative. In partnership with Girls with Wiings, a donation drive was hosted on-site to collect essential sanitary pads and soap. Thanks to the generosity of athletes and spectators, the drive was a resounding success, directly supporting young women in underprivileged communities.
