Here are 10 new beauty products to try in July!

Nair Argan Oil Bikini & Underarm Sensitive Glide-On
I love hair removal creams! The pain-free, super easy to use lotions have been my hair removal method of choice for years now, because, what’s not to love? But, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have its downsides. Often the creams smell all kinds of weird and the harsh chemicals that literally melt away your hair can leave your skin feeling a little worse for wear. Which is why I was excited to try the new Nair Argan Oil range. The new range offers hair-removal cream lovers a unique formulation which includes Argan Oil (known for its nourishing and restorative properties) to care for the skin while you remove the hair. I got the chance to try out the Nair Argan Oil Bikini & Underarm Sensitive Glide-on (R89.99) and loved how easy it was to use. You simply twist the button at the bottom of the tube to release the product onto the applicator lid and spread it on the desired area. The product works super quickly and leaves your skin feeling soft and nourished afterwards. It works wonders on the bikini area and it’s officially my new go-to product!
The range also includes Nair Argan Oil Shower Power Cream (RSP of R124.95), Nair Argan Oil Face Roll-on (RSP of 189.95), Nair Argan Oil Washable Roll-On Wax (RSP of R279.95) and more and is available from Clicks stores nationwide.
Optiphi Active Lip Formula
If you’re suffering from dry, cracked lips during these colder months then you need to get your hands on Optiphi’s new Active Lip Formula. This lovely balm protects while moisturizing dry chapped lips and is the ideal product for everyday lip care in winter. The balms formula helps strengthen, repair and rebuild the skin’s barrier locking in moisture and keeping lips supple and moisturized all day long. The balm contains Shea Butter, to protect the lips against inflammation and add intense moisture, as well as Coconut Oil to soften skin and improve the condition of dry, cracked lips. I am a bit of a lip balm addict and I’m constantly searching for the best of the best lip balms to soothe my lips in winter and this one is definitely up there with my favourites.
At a recommended retail price of R350, this isn’t the cheapest lip balm on the market but it really works! Find it at select beauty salons nationwide including the Lash & Brow Bar in Cape Town.
Eylure Brow Crayon
I loved this brow crayon from eyebrow specialists, Eylure. It comes in three different colours (blonde, mid-brown, and dark brown) and allows for precision when creating brows that wow. The super soft pencil ensures intense, long lasting colour and is just the thing you need to fill in stubborn bald spots within your brows and create clean, neat lines.
Available from Dis-Chem stores nationwide at R95.
Dr. Dermal The Omega Skin Care Oil
From the great minds who brought you Dr. Dermal’s Texture Correction Pads comes a beautiful new product waiting to become your new hero product of note. Dr Dermal’s Omega Skin Oil is perfect for people with dry, sensitive skin who need help rebuilding and protecting their skin’s barrier. If your skin’s barrier function isn’t functioning correctly or is damaged then there’s a good chance that your skin has very little standing in the way of it and external irritants. This product will help rebuild your skin’s barrier and get it working optimally, which means bye-bye dry, sensitive, red, and inflamed skin. The Omega Skin Care Oil is packed full of omega oils which help to strengthen and build your skin’s barrier – kind of like gym for your skin! I love to use this oil when my skin has taken a beating – for example after an intense session at the gym, a night playing netball, or even after a long walk on the Sea Point promenade (Cape Town’s icy cold wind is no joke!) It’s super pampering and instantly gives you a boost if moisture when you need it most.

The Body Shop Shade Adjusting Drops
This one’s for every woman who has ever struggled to find the right shade of foundation to match their skin! The worst is when your skin changes colour in-between seasons and you have to splash out on a different colour for the cooler and warmer months (sigh). But now, thanks to the clever sausages over at The Body Shop, the nightmare is over and we can all breathe a sigh of relief knowing that thanks to their new Shade Adjusting Drops we’ll always have the right colour on hand. These rather genius drops allow you to either lighten or darken your current foundation shade, resulting in a foundation that matches you to a T. You can use them with any foundation and the trick is to put a little foundation on your hand and add a drop or two of the shade adjusting drops, blending as you go, until you get the shade you want. The drops can be quite potent so make sure you start with just a little and see how you go. Of course, the drops work best with foundations that are already quite close to your skin tone.
A bottle of the Shade Adjusting Drops will set you back R300.
Benefit Gimme Brow
Another winner in the brow department is the Benefit Gimme Brow gel. This brush-on fiber gel adheres to the skin and hair with ease and allows you to create brows where there were no brows before! I love that you can use this product to build your brows and create the enviable thick arches of your dreams. And, if you’re due for a brow tint then this is the perfect product to tied you over in-between tints as the gel adheres to the hairs to add a splash of colour to lighter hairs, allowing them to stand out. The tapered brush allows for easy blending and the precision tip for precise shaping where you need it most. The gel is available in two shades, light and medium. I loved this product because it really does help to plump up sad, missing in action brows (like mine) and give them a new lease on life!
Available from Red Square and Edgars stores nationwide at R335 – click here to buy it online now for R234.50!
Jeunesse Instantly Ageless
No eye cream has worked to give me results quite like Instantly Ageless. Ok, the results aren’t exactly permanent, they only last up to 9 hours after application, but that’s long enough for me! Instantly Ageless is a powerful anti-wrinkle micro-cream that works quickly and effectively to diminish the visible signs of ageing. And ladies, it REALLY works! I put a little bit of this stuff around my eyes and was amazed to see how the fine lines and bags just disappeared in seconds. I also tested the cream on some friends and family members and the results were nothing short of wow! The cream helps to immediately tighten, firm and lift the appearance of sagging skin and even helps to minimise the appearance of pores for a flawless finish.
This fabulous product retails for about R 1134.84 for a pack of 50 sachets. You can also read my full review on the product here.
