Here’s how you can enjoy the jet-set lifestyle with a lunchtime experience that takes you to new heights!
The fabulous experience for two sees you starting your adventure at NAC Helicopters at the Victorian & Alfred Waterfront. Upon arrival you will cheers to the fabulous life with a glass of bubbly and then your pilot will take you and a guest on a scenic private helicopter trip, flying over the Atlantic Ocean with amazing views of Robben Island, Lion’s Head, Camps Bay and Clifton.
Once the Twelve Apostles Mountain range is in your sights, you’ll land at Cape Town’s number one city hotel and spa, where you will enjoy a delicious select menu in the award-winning Azure Restaurant including ‘a flight of wines’ tasting experience by their Sommelier. Lunch will include delights like Chicken Noodle Soup (Bea Tollman’s famous homemade chicken noodle broth with carrots, celery, noodles and mini chicken pie), Prawn Stroganoff (Bea Tollman’s spin on the classic creamy dish is served with steamed basmati rice) and Vanilla Crème Brûlée.
I didn’t get to experience the lunch offering but I have had dinner at Azure restaurant before and I can assure you it is out of this world amazing. Sit outside on the balcony and soak up the unmatchable views of the ocean and surrounding mountain cliffs from the hotel. The flight itself was so exhilarating and I loved every minute of it. The helicopter we flew in (Rolls Royce 250-C47B Turbine Engine) was also all kinds of fancy – with ultra-comfy leather seats, space for 6 passengers, and super friendly pilots, the NAC helicopters are the only way to travel! I felt like a rock star sitting in this thing and it is by far the nicest and most comfy helicopter I have ever had the pleasure of being inside.
Once you’re done with your lunch you will be whisked back to the Waterfront where you will leave with a full tummy, a happy heart and plenty of photographs of your experience. The lunch experience costs R 1750 per person.
