Review: Do No Harm with the Nuxe Bio Organic Vegan Skincare Range

Nuxe Bio Organic Collection

Nature has always been the main source of inspiration for French skincare and beauty brand Nuxe, but now, the much-loved brand is taking it one step further by encouraging consumers to discover a socially responsible side of beauty. This spring, Nuxe has entered a new era of beauty with its Bio Organic Skincare Collection, taking a socially responsible line with every aspect of the product life cycle, from formula to packaging.

Celebrating the power of nature, the Nuxe Bio Organic Collection features 9 vegan, certified organic skincare products with natural-origin active ingredients and natural scented textures. With a strong ‘do no harm’ ethos, is this new skin-loving, planet-friendly range for you?

For this new range of products, Nuxe hands the proverbial baton over to nature for a new bold take on natural skincare. The biodegradable, rinse-off formulas of each product give priority to active ingredients derived from green technologies, favouring extraction or processing methods most suited to each plant ingredient. In so doing, the brand says it hopes to reveal the ingredients’ potential with minimum environmental impact.

In terms of green credentials; the Bio Organic range covers all the bases. The formulas have the ECOCERT certificate and, on average, boast 99% natural origin ingredients and 52% organic ingredients. All oils used are 100% from plant origin and the scents are 100% from natural origin. With no animal origin ingredients and no animal testing, the products are also Vegan-friendly.

But it’s not just the ingredients that are sourced carefully and responsibly, the packaging is kinder to the planet too. The packaging across the entire range is made from recyclable glass and plastic and is ECOCERT-approved, which means no more guilt around single-use plastics in the name of beautiful skin.

The Nuxe Bio Organic range includes a wide array of exciting skincare products for the face and body. This includes the Essential Antioxidant Serum, Glow Rich Moisturising Cream, Reviving Eye Care, Skin Correcting Moisturising Fluid, Micro-exfoliating Cleansing Mask, and Replenishing Nourishing Body Oil.

Hands-on with the Nuxe Bio Organic range

I had the opportunity to try a few products from the range including the Micellar Cleansing Water, Ultimate Night Recovery Oil, and Radiance Detox Mask.

The Moringa Seeds Micellar Cleansing Water (R345, 200ml) is a very effective cleanser and makeup remover. For those who love a double cleanse, this is the ideal product. It does a brilliant job of helping to breakdown impurities, sebum and pollution particles on the skin while also gently removing makeup from the face and eyes. My skin always looks oh-so-fresh and radiant after using this cleanser and I love the subtle floral scent of the product. It feels beautifully soothing on the skin and there’s no need to rinse off the product if you want to use it as a stand-alone cleanser.

Who doesn’t love a good mask? A brilliant addition to any self-care Sunday ritual, the Sesame Seeds & Citrus Extract Radiance Detox Mask (R495, 50ml) works to detoxify weary skin, leaving you with a radiant, fresh complexion. This sensorial mask’s gel-like texture transforms into an oil when applied to the skin and finally milk when left on the skin for 5 minutes and massaged into the skin with water.

This mask is definitely the hero of the lot for me and I love how my skin looks after using it. It’s delightfully soothing and my skin looks refreshed, replenished and plump after using it. It’s ideal to use if you want to melt away the stress of the week before a big event and I’m sure it’s going to be my go-to skin treat for summer.

As for the Nuxe Rice Oil Extract Ultimate Night Recovery Oil (R795, 30ml) this powerful oil works overnight to nourish, repair and renew the skin.  Combining the repairing properties of the key ingredient, Rice Oleo-extract, with the soothing properties of organic botanical oils (avocado, sesame, jojoba, macadamia), the product starts to show results from the very first use. The ideal night treatment for normal to dry skin, the oil works its magic while you sleep, leaving you with a radiant complexion when you wake up.

I like using this product as a serum after cleansing and massage it all over my face, neck and décolleté just before bed. The light oil soaks into the skin super quickly and doesn’t leave any oil residue on the skin. For a real sensory treat, follow the Radiance Mask with the Ultimate Night Recovery Oil — you’ll feel like a million bucks!

After trying just these three products from the Nuxe Bio Organic range I’m excited to sample more from the collection. If the quality of the products I tried is anything to go by then I’m sure I won’t be disappointed. With its green credentials and results-driven products, Nuxe’s Bio Organic range is well worth trying — trust me, your skin, and the planet, will thank you!
