If you love to dance or have always wanted to try a dance class but have been too self-conscious then you’re going to love the Rockingnheels dance fitness classes. You see, the Rockingnheels classes aren’t just your ordinary dance classes, they’re a recipe for success! Take a generous dollop of fitness, add a dash of motivational speaking and a sprinkle of fun and you get a rather unique dance fitness concept like no other in Joburg. The all-female dance classes are a fun and engaging way to develop self-confidence and fitness … all while wearing your favourite pair of high heels!
The concept was developed by passionate dancer, choreographer and female entrepreneur Nkateko ‘Takkies’ Maswanganye who has been dancing since the age of 9. After dancing her way around the globe in the UK, US, Germany, Dubai, Nigeria and Mozambique, Takkies came home to choreograph for the likes of singer-songwriter LeAnne Dlamini, Pop-RnB King Danny K, Chiano Sky, Mozambican star Gabriela as well as for the acclaimed Woolworths RE: Jeans commercial starring Victoria Secret model, Candice Swanepoel. And, when she isn’t dancing her way to success, she’s helping ordinary South African women fall in love with their bodies through the Rockingnheels dance fitness classes.
The dance workout class are for women of all ages and backgrounds and are the perfect way to get fit and feel fabulous! The fun, inspiring and engaging exercise classes offer women a place to dance and feel sassy and sexy while wearing a pair of high heels. During the class you will exercise in heels, learn how to walk in heels and build self-confidence…in heels! But that’s not all; Takkies also includes a little bit of female empowerment into her classes. While you will no doubt learn loads of great dance moves during the class, Takkies also uses the class as an opportunity to talk about her journey as a business woman, why she started the Rockingnheels concept, and to teach ladies how to walk with confidence and own who they really are.
The tri-weekly classes are a great way to learn to feel more comfortable in your own skin and anyone can join in for classes on Monday and Wednesday from 18:30 – to 19:30 at Katz Dance Studio (60 Rivonia Road, Sandton) and Saturdays from 11.30 – 12.30 at Dance Junxion (Coachman’s Crossing, Bryanston, above Mugg and Bean). Walk in classes are R100 per person but Takkies also offers a variety of packages with some great extras included for those who want to commit to weekly classes. And, if you want to inspire your female employees or want Takkies to bring her magic to your special occasion then keep in mind that the Rockingnheels classes are also great for team building, corporate events, birthday parties, bachelorette parties, private lessons and more!
