Great news for cinephiles in The Mother City, The Galileo Open Air Cinema, Cape Town’s beloved outdoor movie experience, is back for another spectacular season under the stars. Mark those calendars for the 31st of October 2023, when The Galileo kicks off its summer season, a bucket-list activity that will run until the end of April 2024. With over 100 iconic movies on the roster, this summer promises a line-up that wows, catering to every movie lover and all ages.

From heart-warming family classics to tear-jerker rom-coms, toe-tapping musicals, Bollywood, iconic cult classics and golden oldies, The Galileo Open Air Cinema offers the ultimate setting for an enchanting evening with friends, romantic date nights, birthday celebrations, family gatherings, or even team end-of-year parties.

As the team unveils this 12th star-studded season, The Galileo promises to whisk you away to some of the most breath-taking venues in Cape Town and the Cape Winelands. Weekdays will see screenings hosted at the picturesque Kirstenbosch Garden, while selected Fridays will light up Central Park in Century City. Saturdays are all about alternating Wine Estates across Paarl, Franschhoek, Stellenbosch, and Somerset West.

The good news just keeps getting better with NEW seasonal specials also on offer, aimed at enhancing the cinematic adventure and saving you a few ‘Randelas’. For those celebrating birthdays, The Birthday Special ensures a free ticket in the week of your birthday. Seniors aged 60 and over can enjoy The Pensioner Discount Ticket* available every day of the week, except during special shows. Students from tertiary education institutions can also make use of The Student Discount Ticket* by redeeming a Varsity Vibe code. (*Discount Tickets – Only available to book online).

The Galileo’s commitment to creating unforgettable experiences shines through in its special shows. Look out for Halloween-themed décor at its season kick-off as well as Easter Egg hunts and Christmas festivities, giant lawn games, themed décor and entertainment.
