Virgin’s New Adults-Only Cruise Ship Brings Ultimate Luxe to the High Seas

Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady

Cruise ships might not be for everybody but Virgin Voyages’ new addition to the high seas might just be the push you need to hop on-board a cruise ship. Determined to always do something a little extra ordinary, Virgin has announced a cruise liner like no other with it’s ultra-luxurious new adults-only cruise ship, the Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady and has released the first images of the luxury suites onboard this one of a kind vessel.

Due for delivery in Miami in 2020, Virgin has released renderings of the Scarlet Lady’s 78 luxury “RockStar Suites,” which will be located on the ship’s 15th deck. These will include 15 Mega RockStar Suites, which are further divided into Massive, Fab, Posh and Gorgeous Suites. With these totally breathtaking luxury room options to choose from, guests will be treated to the ultimate life of glitz and glamour at sea.

There are two Massive Suites onboard, each boasting its very own music room, which acts as an extra bedroom, and is fully stocked with guitars, an amplifier and a vinyl turntable in the living room. There’s also, of course, a hot tub, vanity area, two wardrobes and a marble bathroom with views of the ocean. These suites also feature a lookout point and loungers for stargazing, hammocks and a runway outdoor dining table for six.

Meanwhile, the Gorgeous Suite (of which there are nine onboard), features large, distinct lounge and bedroom areas, a luxurious marble bathroom and a large terrace with a peek-a-view outdoor shower. In addition to luxury at its finest in their rooms, all suite guests will have access to Richard’s Rooftop, an exclusive chic outdoor lounge.

The Scarlet Lady is the first of three planned Virgin Voyages ships, with two more due to come in 2021 and 2022. With 1,430 cabins, it will hold more than 2,770 passengers who will be serviced by 1,160 crew. For those who aren’t lucky enough to bag a luxury suite there will be plenty on-board to keep them occupied including over 20 dining and drinking options. But the dining options won’t be like anything you’d find on traditional cruise ships.

There will be no buffets, main dining rooms or assigned dining times instead dinners can expect to find restaurants like the Wake, which will serve “a theatrical take on steak and seafood” and offers dramatic views of its wake from the back of the ship. All of the ship’s restaurant food will be included in the fare, with no upcharges— another departure from traditional cruise ship dining.

The Scarlet Lady will embark on her inaugural sailing season around the Caribbean in 2020 and will be strictly reserved for travellers over the age of 18.
