Ladies, look alive because the holy grail of makeup is coming to South Africa! That’s right, Urban Decay Cosmetics is finally coming to South African shores and will be in stores near you in 2016 (eep!) The much-loved cosmetic brand will be brought to our shores by L’Oreal South Africa and we can’t thank them enough. Here’s the low-down on the brand and the South African launch details so far.
L’Oreal South Africa announced that the first Urban Decay Cosmetics stores and stands will be launched in association with Stuttafords and will see the first stand-alone store opening its doors in Sandton, Johannesburg on 9 July 2016 with a Urban Decay counter opening in Foschini at Eastgate Shopping Centre shortly there after. Of course, if you don’t live in Joburg, fret not as the rest of the country can expect to see product in Stuttafords stores soon. And, if you’re not in Joburg then you can also shop all the Naked and Naked palettes products online for a limited time only. Urbandecaystore.co.za will be live and offering limited stock for a limited time and delivery is free if you order two products or more. Delivery on one item is R40.
Of course, we all know that Urban Decay is well known for the Naked eyeshadow palettes and until now we have had to resort to begging friends, family and even strangers to bring them as gifts from their overseas trips but in the next few months we will able to waltz into stores and buy them for ourselves. And, the even better news is that the entire Urban Decay range will be available in South Africa soon after launch!
As for prices, the famous Urban Decay Naked palettes will retail for R850 (which is a bargain compared to South African Urban Decay resellers who were charging up to R1500 per palette) while the much-loved Eyeshadow Primer Potion will sell for about R450, single eyeshadow colours for about R225 each, and the Naked Basic palette (6-pan palette) for R490. All very affordable if you ask us!
The WomenStuff team has also done a review of 6 products from the range, including the NAKED Basics palette, to see if they live up to the hype – read our review here.
