5 Events You Need to Check Out This Weekend!
This weekend can’t come soon enough! It seems like just yesterday we were enjoying the long weekend and right now all we can do is count down the days until Friday. If you’re already planning your weekend then check out these 5 events that you simply have to check out this weekend and beyond.
1. Veldfire Performance at Nirox Sculpture Park – Joburg
**Update**Â The event has been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances and the new date is 13 June (with a weather back-up date of 16 June).
If you’re in Joburg this weekend then don’t miss the ‘Eland & Benko’ 2015 – fire grazer art collaboration at Nirox Sculpture Park on Saturday 11 April. Visual artist, Hannelie Coetzee and scientist Sally Archibald invite Joburgers to participate in their  ‘context responsive’ art and science veldfire performance in a beautiful setting. Teams from Working on Fire will burn the image as a ‘performance’ at sunset and attendees can choose to buy a print to take home.

2. Taste of Cape Town – Cape Town
Taste of Cape Town returns from 10 – 12 April for three days of absolute foodie heaven. Sample eats and treats from over 10 of the city’s hottest restaurants while checking out the wide range wares from boutique exhibitors, artisan producers, premium drink brands and award-winning wineries. This is an event not to be missed!

3. Noodle Box Cinema: Fists of Furry – Joburg
If you love old school movie screenings then head to the Bioscope for a screening of classic Kung Fu movie, Fists of Furry on Thursday 9 April. Noodle Box Cinema allows movie-goers to enjoy a delicious box of noodles while watching the best Kung Fu action on the big screen in Joburg’s city-centre. It’s a great way to spend an evening with friends or your special someone.

4. Live Music Evening at Avontuur Estate -Western Cape
Avontuur Estate in Somerset West is once again hosting a stellar free music night on Friday 10 April. Music lovers can join in the fun from 17:00 – 20:00 on the outdoor terrace in front of the restaurant and cellar building. Pop into the tasting room to buy a bottle of wine to enjoy during the performance and tuck into a casual terrace menu.

5. Tokai Forest Market – Cape Town
Eat, shop and relax at the Tokai Forest Market this weekend. The market take places this Saturday 11 April from 09:00 – 16:00 and offers loads of vendors selling everything from home made jams and pickles to jewelry and other hand-made items. Pop in for breakfast or lunch and enjoy a cup of coffee while the kids play in the sandpit or the jungle gym.
