Bottomless Bubbly Lunch at 15 on Orange!
Spoil yourself rotten at the 15 on Orange Bottomless Bubbly Lunch! Taking place on the first Sunday of every month this buffet-style lunch is beyond decadent. Crystal went through to check it out (you know, all in the name of journalistic integrity) and left with incredible foodie memories, a champagne high and a super (super) full tummy.
The exceptional Sunday lunch is the perfect way to celebrate a birthday, anniversary or a random Sunday. Packed with decadent eats and treats there is something for everyone at this feast. With over fifteen starters and salads, eleven extravagant seafood dishes, a spread of seven entrees and a plethora of decadent desserts there is plenty to go round. But beware, this is the type of event where you need to skip breakfast and come hungry. There’s so much to sample and trust me you will want to try a little bit of everything … and the go back for seconds.
Upon arrival at the hotel’s dining area we were greeted with a glass of Graham Beck Méthode Cap Classique (the good stuff) before being ushered to our table. We finished the bubbly and a few short moments later, just like magic someone was there to refill it with more. Basically it’s heaven on earth … or pretty close to what it must feel like to be a rapper’s girlfriend. But wait, there’s more! Packed with everything from sushi, oysters and prawn cocktails to salads, stews, grills and more the buffet tables are a sight for sore eyes. Some of our favourites from the buffet table include the Gnocchi with walnuts and creamy Gorgonzola sauce, Royal Thai Seafood Curry and the sushi (which offered a selection of sashimi, California rolls and maki).
Dessert was also an affair to remember and offered a spread of macaroons, giant meringues, nougat, mini Lemon Meringues, Chocolate Éclairs, individual Chocolate Mousse cups and so much more. I filled a small plate with a white chocolate truffle, a mini fruit sorbet with macaroon, a mini doughnut topped with chocolate and pistachio shavings, and some fresh fruit – because at this stage it was; “go big or go home”.
The Bottomless Bubbly lunch starts at 12:00 and carries on long into the afternoon. We stayed until about 16:00 and there were still a few tables left munching and sipping away. The lunch is R495 per person (including bottomless champagne which flows all afternoon) and children under 12 eat free.
