Luckily for you the WomenStuff team is on the job – we’ve searched high and low for the very best all-day breakfast spots in Cape Town so you don’t have to awkwardly beg the waiter to forget that they stopped serving breakfast at 11:00. Here’s our top 10 list of eateries serving all-day breakfast in Cape Town.
1. Four & Twenty – Wynberg
This quaint little spot is a must-try next time you’re craving a fry-up past 11:30! The eatery is quite famous for the exceptional breakfasts so make sure you pop in for brunch very soon. Try the Breakfast Sumptuous (caramelised onions, smashed avo, Danish feta and a soft poached free-range egg finished with balsamic glaze and served with toast – R56), Beer-batter, Apple & Bacon Flapjacks (fluffy flapjacks served with a pecan and apple Streusel in a cinnamon, caramel sauce and a creamed apple-butter-Mascarpone topped with maple-glazed bacon R82) or the Hearty Baked Eggs (rustic sweet potato and caramelised onion hash, layered with topped with baby spinach and spring onion, home-made tomato smoor, and 2 eggs served with Crusty Toast – R78).

This little eatery is all about making plant-based food options readily available to Capetonians. At this joint you will find deliciously nutritious food without any harmful ingredients or preservatives. All their food is made from scratch (seriously they make their own mayo, cheeses and smoke their own tempeh bacon) all so you will have peace of mind when eating there! Plant serves breakfast until 14:00, which isn’t all day but hey if you’re having breakfast after 14:00 in the afternoon you might need to reassess your life. Try the French Toast (served with homemade coconut butter and cinnamon maple syrup – R44) or the Traditional Vegan Breakfast (tofu breakfast scramble, served rashers of tempeh bacon, grilled mushroom, tomato and sauteed potato with toast on the side – R69).

3. Knead Bakery and Cafe – Muizenberg, Sea Point, Gardens
This eatery serves up some of the most delicious breakfast dishes in Cape Town, with freshly baked breads and yummy omelettes, French toast, health breakfasts and good old fashioned fried, poached and scrambled eggs on the menu you will be spoiled for choice at this spot. They serve a wide selection of breakfast options all day including everything from wholesome wheat-free muesli to a traditional fry-ups with a twist. 5. The Big Bay Waffle Co. – Eden on Bay
If you’re craving waffles for breakfast then you need to head to Big Bay and soon! As you have probably guessed from the name, the eatery specialises in waffles – both sweet and savoury. The eatery prides themselves on serving excellent coffee and we love that the spot is quiet and peaceful despite being on Sea Point Main Road.
