Edgy CT Cocktail Bar, Outrage of Modesty Closes for Good in 2 Weeks!

Outrage of Modesty

Super sad news, Cape Town’s coolest hidden cocktail bar, Outrage of Modesty, will be closing its doors in 2 weeks. When it first opened, the cocktail bar was unlike anything else in Cape Town and its menu was designed to unsettle the norm, force you to pause, to rethink cocktails. Thanks to its long list of experimental cocktails, the hip bar made a huge splash on the Cape Town bar scene during its opening month but now it’s time to say goodbye to this legendary spot as they have announced they will be closing up shop in just 2 weeks on the 22nd of September. If you still haven’t experienced an Outrage of Modesty cocktail now is the time to visit before it’s too late.

But it’s not all doom and gloom as something equally as cool is set to take the place of the ultra cool spot. The team behind Outrage of Modesty have announced that the cocktail bar will be replaced by The Commissary at Shortmarket, an exciting new concept brought to us by the creators of The Shortmarket Club. From 23 September, Outrage of Modesty will close its doors and undergo a revamp and menu-transformation to morph into The Commissary at Shortmarket and while we’re sad to say goodbye to a legend it’s always exciting hearing about fabulous projects like this in the works.

Headed up by The Shortmarket Club’s Chef Wesley Randles and Simon Widdison, The Commissary at Shortmarket will open in place of the cocktail bar in early November this year. The team are keeping details about the new spot pretty close their chests at the moment so there aren’t too many details to share at this point but if The Shortmarket Club is anything to go by, we’re sure it’s going to be a hit!
