L.A. Girl Inspiring Eyeshadow Palettes – an Affordable Beauty Wonder! [Review]

L.A Girl Inspiring Eyeshadow Palettes

I’m currently collecting eyeshadow palettes. It’s a new obsession that I can tell is quickly going to get out of hand but that’s future me’s problem so for now, I’m going to keep collecting. Luckily for me, I’m also no makeup snob (affordable, luxury, I’ll take it all), which means the make-up world’s my oyster! And, nothing makes my day more rosy than finding an affordable beauty must-have like the new L.A Girl Inspiring Eyeshadow Palettes. This wonderful range of eyeshadow palettes come in cute-as-a-button vintage-inspired tins and are too affordable not to collect ’em all! Trust me, you’ll be exercising some serious self-control when you see these pretty little babies all lined up next to each other on the shelves. Here’s why they’re our pick for Hero Product of the Week!

There are six palettes in the collection, ranging from neutrals and purples to blues and even a dark smokey grey. In each Eyeshadow palette tin you get six complementary shades which are great for creating a variety of looks with ease. Each palette contains matte shades, shimmer shades (for highlighting your brow and inner corner of your eye), and a dark matte accent shade to use as an eyeliner or to create a bold look. I love that not all the accent shades in each palette are black – instead, they’re more carefully matched to the tones inside the palette you choose. For example, the Fabulous & Fearless palette (with varying shades of blue) has a deep blue matte accent shade while the Naturally Beautifully palette (with varying browns and nudes) has a dark brown accent shade with a burgundy undertone.

I’ve got two L.A Girl Inspiring Eyeshadow Palettes – Day Dream Believer (the lightest palette of the 6) and Fabulous & Fearless (a beautiful cornucopia of blue – my favourite colour and a great match for my hazel eyes). The palattes are the perfect size to pop in your handbag and won’t take up too much room on your dressing table. Plus, they’re super cute vintage look will mean you won’t want to hide them in a drawer! Each palette also comes with a dual-ended sponge tip eyeshadow applicator, which is great when you’re on-the-go but not ideal for everyday use.

I absolutely adore the Day Dream Believer palette which has six subtle neutral colours (2 matte and 4 shimmery shades) including shimmery but muted gold and bronze accent shades. The white shimmery shade in the middle of the palette is great for highlighting and this palette is the ultimate must-have for a romantic night out with your special someone. The pigment of these colours is great but definitely more subtle so you will need to build and blend to create a more striking look if that’s what you’re after.

As for the Fabulous & Fearless palette, this palette didn’t disappoint either and I was super impressed with the pigment of these colours – they have super strong, bold colour and the shadows themselves feel soft and luxurious on your skin. They also blend beautifully and building colour is a breeze!

The L.A. Girl Inspiring Eyeshadow Palettes retail for R119.95 each at Dis-Chem stores nationwide and they’re great value for money when you consider more expensive brands can set you back as much as R900 a palette.
