L’Avenir Opens Exclusive Pinotage Lounge!

Next time to you head to the Stellenbosch area make sure you leave enough time to check out L’Avenir wine estates brand new Pinotage Lounge! South Africa’s first lounge dedicated exclusively to Pinotage is located in the heart of the functioning cellar on the L’Avenir estate and is a definite must-visit for wine lovers. Keep reading for a sneak peek of this fabulous space.

Pinotage, a blend of the notoriously fickle Pinot Noir grape & the hardier Hermitage (commonly known as Cinsault), has been cultivated in South Africa since the early 1940s. It’s South Africa’s most famous varietal and so it is only fitting that a wine estate open a tasting lounge dedicated to this unique wine.

The new lounge was officially launched at the beginning of March and offers wine enthusiasts the opportunity to experience exclusive Pinotage tastings hosted by the winemaker, Dirk Coetzee on the farm. The lounge showcases some of the wineries most beloved Pintoage wines such as the L’Avenir Single Block Pinotage, Single Block 2012 and other rare vintages dating back to the 1970s!

The Pinotage Lounge can be booked for intimate events and corporate functions and operates as a tasting room during operating hours on the farm. The lounge is set to be a popular spot on the farm so make sure you book your tasting before you go! For bookings email info@lavenir.co.za.
