I’m really excited to tell you about a new shampoo and conditioner set I’ve been using for the past three months. Dressed in feisty pink packaging, the Marc Anthony Grow Long range is definitely a trio to try when you’re searching for longer and luscious hair. Featuring a shampoo, conditioner and leave-in conditioner, the Marc Anthony Grow Long range was created for those of us who are eager to press the re-start button on dehydrated or colour-treated strands. This new range claims to stimulate hair growth and lesson hair dryness with the help of key ingredients like caffeine, ginseng and vitamin E, so I decided to put the products to the test and find out if they’re a must-have rescue remedy for your hair or better left on the bathroom floor.
Packed with the power of caffeine, ginseng and vitamin E – which all help to promote hair growth, a healthy shine and, to my surprise, super soft hair – the products in this range definitely left an impression on me. The Marc Anthony Grow Long Shampoo is sulphate-free and safe to use on colour or chemically treated hair. It has a traditionally soapy texture to it but comes in a playful, spacey blue colour that makes it fun to use. One squeeze into the palm of your hand is enough for a good and thorough wash. The soap doubles well enough and you may find yourself only using it once and not twice – but you can play around with this method depending on the length of your hair.
As for the Marc Anthony Grow Long Conditioner, this product has now been placed on my list of top conditioners that I have used so far. It is definitely my favourite of the three products. It has a white, creamy texture and a very pleasant, yet very subtle scent to it. I really loved that the smell was not too overpowering. Its texture is thick and it feels nourishing to the scalp. I didn’t have to leave it in for too long to get sleek, and let me say that again – S – L – E – E – K! and smooth hair. If showers were ever boring, they somehow became a lot more eventful. The conditioner definitely adds an element of TLC to your hair routine and mostly makes you feel like you are getting a hair salon treatment.
The Marc Anthony Grow Long Leave-in Conditioner comes in a spray bottle canister and helps to detangle your hair, enhance its softness and protect your colour. You simply spray it over your hair after washing and just before blow-drying or heat-styling. It gives you a softer finish even if you don’t blow-dry or heat-style your hair.
The shampoo and conditioner come in tubes which allow you to keep tabs on the amount of product that’s available. And with this product, you’re really going to want to use all your money’ s worth as prices start from R120 and up, which is on the pricey side considering it’s a drugstore product. So feel no shame in scraping out the last bits of your Marc Anthony Grow Long products!
After a few weeks of using the full range, I did find that my hair had grown slightly longer than I had expected but this could also have been due to my natural hair growth speed. Either way, the products do contain impressive ingredients and give you a lovely TLC-induced salon finish which you’ll love.
The Marc Anthony Grow Long Caffeine Ginseng Shampoo (250ml – R129), Grow Long Caffeine Ginseng Leave-in conditioner 250ml – R 149), and Grow Long Caffeine Ginseng Leave-in conditioner (250ml –Â R 149) Â is available online from Takealot.
