New ‘Limited Time’ Winter Beverages Now Available at Starbucks South Africa

Starbucks has upped the deliciousness of its hot offerings with two brand new indulgent ‘limited time’ handcrafted winter beverages, now available in all Starbucks stores. Say hello to the Starbucks winter treats; the Caramelised Almond Macchiato and the Double Chocolatey Macchiato.

The Caramelised Almond Macchiato is made with steamed milk and delicious caramelised almond syrup, topped with Blonde espresso shots and finished with the Starbucks crosshatch of caramel drizzle.

For chocolate lovers, the Double Chocolatey Macchiato is made with steamed milk and chocolate mixture of white and dark chocolate, topped with Blonde espresso shots and finished with a chocolate crosshatch.

These two dreamy drinks are already adding warmth and a touch of sweetness to the Starbucks experience so make sure you get down to your friendly neighbourhood Starbucks store before they leave for good.

Both new beverages pair well with a range of dishes on the food menu. Special pairings included the mature cheddar cheese and chutney croissant or the freshly baked almond triangle paired with the Double Chocolatey Macchiato; the three-cheese toastie or carrot cake gateaux paired with the Iced Caramelised Almond Macchiato; and the roast beef wrap paired with the Caramelised Almond Macchiato.

The ‘something for everyone’ food menu has a comprehensive selection of breakfast items that includes croissants, bagels, granola and yoghurt pots, French toast, and muffins; lunch dishes that include rolls, vegetarian dishes, sandwiches, wraps, and snack pots; as well as a not-to-be-skipped decadent sweet selection that includes cakes, macarons, cheesecake, cupcakes, mousse, cookies, and more. Starbucks prides itself on ensuring that all dishes on the menu are made with high quality, simple ingredients, “so all the goodness you taste is real food, simply delicious.”

Among the many favourite-favourites on the Starbucks menu is the avocado and haloumi English muffin served with a tomato chutney and paired with brewed coffee, Americano, cappuccino, or iced shaken green or black tea for breakfast or lunch; and for a mid-afternoon treat, the baked salted caramel cheesecake with a crunchy chocolate base, paired with Teavana hot teas, brewed coffee, cappuccino, or cold brewed coffee.

For a premium Starbucks experience, the four Starbucks Reserve stores located at Rosebank and Melrose Arch in Johannesburg, Menlyn Maine in Pretoria, and Florida Road in Durban, are delivering seldom-experienced tastes, fascinating coffee stories, intricate preparation methods, and memorable moments.

Starbucks Reserve stores have exclusive menus that give coffee aficionados the opportunity to taste and enjoy extremely rare, small-lot coffees, which are only available on menus for brief three-month or shorter seasons because of limited quantities.

Two delicious small lot coffees on the Starbucks Reserve menu are Kenya Kabare, which is sweet and pungent with notes of blackberry, grapefruit zest, and roasted cacao nibs; and Brazil IP Estate, which has cocoa, brown sugar and soft pineapple notes with a syrupy mouthfeel.

Starbucks coffee is 99% ethically sourced and accredited by Conservation International under the C.A.F.E. Practices programme.

Starbucks Parkhurst joins the fold

For Joburgers looking for their Starbucks fix in the north, check out the new store in Parkhurst. Adding its own iconic touch to the trendy neighbourhood coffee shop ambience on Parkhurst’s popular 4th Avenue strip, the brand-new store offers customers the full Starbucks experience.

Starbucks Parkhurst, located at 31 4th Avenue on the corner of 12th Street and features the full range of Starbucks hot and cold beverages, as well as a selection of delicious treats, including muffins, brownies and macarons. The store’s operating hours are from 06:00 to 18:00, seven days a week, depending on lockdown restrictions.
