One of Africa’s Longest & Highest Ziplines Re-Opens in Cape Town!

Cape Town ziplines

Cape Town’s breathtaking beauty attracts visitors from far and wide but what could be better than taking in all that beauty while whizzing across, in-between, and down the mountain valleys of the Constantia Nek winelands on one of the longest and highest ziplines in Africa? Locals and tourists who have already experienced, and loved, the thrill of the Cape Town Ziplines were no doubt saddened to hear about the attractions closure two years ago and it seemed like the days of zipping over the trees of Cape Town were over. But now, after tackling some re-zoning issues we’re thrilled to report that the SA Forest Adventures Cape Town Ziplines has just re-opened to the public!

Located in Silvermist Estate on Hout Bay Road, just a stone’s throw from Constantia Nek’s popular Harbour House and La Parada restaurants, the adrenaline-fuelled zipline site has re-launched in partnership with GoPro (the adventure brand’s first partnership in Africa) to once again offer locals and visitors a unique way to take in Cape Town’s natural beauty and distinctly South African topography.

The 2.3km long zipline tour, which remains open and running whatever the weather, takes visitors on a series of seven cables up to 155m high above the ground, making it one of the longest and highest in Africa. To start, visitors are treated to an exhilarating 4×4 trail up the mountain before being hooked onto the zipline starting at 70m above the ground. The tour lasts about 2 hours from start to finish and sees adrenaline junkies hooking up to bables ranging from 190 metres to just under 500 metres long. The riveting experience boasts stunning views of Table Mountain, the Constantia Winelands and all the way across to Muizenberg.

The great thing about the Cape Town experience is that it can be enjoyed by both young and old and the attraction has welcomed guests as young as 6 years old and as mature as 92 years old! What’s more, a visit to Silvermist and the Cape Town Ziplines can really be made into a full day outing – once guests are done playing above the trees, they can make a day of it at Silvermist Estate as the beautiful spot also offers a wide variety of other fabulous facilities for guests to enjoy including a restaurant, conference facilities and team-building activities.
