Strong to the Core: Bulls Tight Head Prop, Khutha Mchunu Can Plank for 8 Minutes!
While the rest of us battle to hold a plank for 1 minute, Vodacom Bulls tighthead prop Khutha Mchunu is out here doing the most with a core that just won’t quit. Speaking to Cato Louw for ‘1 to 15: What rugby players actually do!’, Bulls Head of Strength and Conditioning, Andre Volsteedt, confirmed that Mchunu can hold a plank for a breathtaking 8 minutes. We wouldn’t dare attempt to tell the head of the Bulls’ social media how to do their job, but this is the type of content (and receipts) the general rugby-watching public wants to see!
A rock-hard core might not be the first thing that comes to mind when sizing up rugby’s beefiest players, but in a one-on-one interview for BrightRock’s online series, Mchunu emphasised the importance of core strength in his position.
Even for the most loyal fans, rugby can be all sorts of confusing. Fortunately, BrightRock has teamed up with the Bulls and renowned sports broadcaster, Cato Louw, to produce ‘1 to 15: What rugby players actually do!’
The innovative online series is designed to help new (and seasoned) rugby fans brush up on their rugby knowledge. Each episode features a one-on-one with a Bulls player to break down their position in a fun and casual way. Plus, you get to learn a little more about the player, the man behind the jersey!
Watch as Bulls’ number 3, Khutha Mchunu catches up with Cato to reveal how he trains and explain why props have the best banter in the team.
