The Black Cellar Club Set Hosts First Premium Wine & Spirits Festival in Langa
The Black Cellar Club (BLACC) is bringing the winelands to the people, because wine festivals shouldn’t exclusively be held in the winelands! In an effort to make South Africans wines accessible to a wider audience, the wine lovers club will host its first ever premium wine and spirits festival, BLACC Fest X Langa, in South Africa’s oldest township Langa, Cape Town.
Taking place on 10 and 11 November, BLACC Fest X Langa aims to bring South African wines to a greater African population. Through educating people about responsible drinking and promoting excellence in the wine and hospitality industry, BLACC is making moves in ensuring that South African wine is recognised for its world-class quality.
The club’s debut wine and spirits festival brings together South Africa’s finest wine estates and distilleries in the historic setting, celebrating wine and winemakers for their local greatness. Expect big names in local wine like Graham Beck Estate, Jordan Wine Estate, Kumusha Wines, Steenberg Vineyards and Zandvliet Wine Estate. There will also be various street food stalls available if you’re feeling peckish, as well as live festive music by the Abavuki Marimba Band amongst other performers.
BLACC Fest X Langa will take place at the Guga S’thebe Arts & Culture Centre from 11:30 to 18:00 on Saturday and 11:30 to 17:oo on Sunday. Tickets are R220 per day and are available through Quicket. The ticket price includes a souvenir BLACC wine glass and 10 x tasting coupons.
