This year, the humble car boot sale is getting a makeover! If you love wine and all things vintage (especially vintage cars) then you can’t miss the PIWOSA Wine Car Boot Fair this weekend! The event promises a day of fine wine and entertainment for both young and old and is the most unique wine tasting event you will ever attend. Why? Well, because the wine will all be flogged from the boot of vintage and retro sports cars! Keep reading to find out more about this unique event right here in the Western Cape.

On Sunday 13 September PIWOSA (Premium Independent Wineries of South Africa) will bring together thirteen of South Africa’s top independent boutique wine producers for a new take on wine tasting that has become super popular in Europe. All thirteen wineries participating in the event will rock up at the event in an array of vintage and retro sports cars and present their wines for tasting and sale from the boots of their glam vehicles. Event goers can expect to find the likes of Cederberg Private Cellar, The Drift Farm, Glenelly, Jordan, Journey’s End, Ken Forrester, Klein Constantia, Mullineux & Leeu family Wines, Paul Cluver, Raats Family Wines and The Winery of Good Hope at this unique event.

Head through to meet the winemakers and enjoy a day of fine wines, delicious food, live music and a wide variety of entertainment. The programme for the day includes a Wine Olympics event (including grape and spoon races, barrel rolling and spitting competitions) and a giant medieval catapult (which will throw giant objects including barrels, cars and pianos throughout the afternoon!)
