Belle’s Patisserie Opens in Pretoria!
Great news for Pretoria locals, the famous Belle’s Patisserie has recently opened their very first Pretoria store! The Joburg born French Patisserie is no stranger to Pretoria foodies who made it their business to drive to Joburg whenever they needed a Bellle’s fix or to order custom cakes but now the drive to your nearest Belle’s is set to be that much shorter with the opening of the fabulous new store.
The new stand-alone Belle’s Patisserie store opened at The Club Shopping Centre in Waterkloof recently and is already a popular hangout for high tea, lunch or just a quick cup of tea and a slice of Belle’s famous cake. Belle’s Patisserie at Blubird Centre in Illovo is one of my most favourite places to grab breakfast or a slice of cake so I am beyond thrilled that they have taken the plunge and launched a store in Pretoria. The menu at the Pretoria store is a little bit different from their Johannesburg stores and offers an expanded menu with loads more salads, pastas, grills and more to try!
Some of the new items on the menu include the delicious Summer French Salad (grilled chicken, green peas and mange tout, fried feta, maple syrup and sherry vinegar dressing – R75), Grilled Fillet Steak (marinated in Rosemary and olive oil, spinach, sauteed mushrooms, served with chips or a side salad – R125) and the Roasted Garlic Steak Sandwich (served with sauteed onion rings and Mozzarella cheese – R75). Of course, the usual Belle’s favourites are also available on the shelves so pay them a visit and stock up on freshly baked artisan breads, sandwiches, biscuits and more.
The new store will also be placing a big focus on high tea – there aren’t too many spots to have a truly stellar high tea in Pretoria so Belle’s decided that they would bring their top-quality high tea experience to the city. Of course, Belle’s is well known in Joburg for their oh-so-incredible sweet eats. Their cakes, cupcakes and elegant patisserie is unlike anything else in Joburg and now they are gearing up to bring that same Belle’s magic to Pretoria. Make sure you pop in soon to sample one of their delicious cupcakes which come in the most incredible range of flavours including Double Chocolate Cupcake, Peanut Butter Cupcake, Rainbow Cupcake, Apple Cupcake and, of course, their famous Red Velvet Cupcake. Belle’s is super famous for the out-of-this-world red velvet cake and cupcakes so I must insist you try one when you visit!
Belle’s also does the most beautiful wedding cakes on earth so if you’re getting hitched soon you will probably want to contact them and take a gander at their previous wedding cakes. If there are no wedding bells in your future then keep in mind that they also do fabulous custom cakes for birthdays, anniversaries and any other occasion you can think of. I can spend hours on their Facebook page staring at their latest custom cakes that they’ve created for their clients. They offer an endless range of cakes in all sorts of flavours so you might have a hard time choosing which one you want. Those who take their cake super seriously can book a cake tasting and sit down with a dedicated cake artist to plan every creative detail of your dream cake. Cake tastings are by appointment only and can be booked between 12:00 and 15:00 on either a Sunday or Monday at a cost of R200.
