Budweiser Launches in SA
Beer is a longstanding favourite when it comes to beverages that South Africans enjoy, so it was probably only a matter of time before one of the globe’s most famous beer brands found its way here. Budweiser has now officially launched in the South African market, after being trialled for a limited time here during our very-own FIFA World Cup back in 2010.
The American beer is the official beer of the World Cup and has carried that torch for the last 32 years, so there’s no better time to launch since we’re such a short period away from the 2018 World Cup in Russia lighting up our screens.
They’ll also be launching a lot of experiential, digital and social programs to coincide with the World Cup all across all markets, not least of which is that they’re predicting their largest beer delivery volume to date to happen for the 2018 World Cup.
Part of their plans for SA to enjoy the tournament will be limited edition 473ml bottle released especially for the World Cup, hosted parties in conjunction with Metro FM in Johannesburg, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Polokwane, Mpumulanga, Bloemfontein and Pretoria, where guests will have a chance to win one ticket to the prestigious football event.
They’re also giving South Africans the opportunity to win one of 30 tickets to games in Russia when they purchase 330ml or 660ml Budweiser bottles, as well as their share of R2 million in airtime available to be won when buying a 660ml bottle.
