Pancake and wine pairings at Uitkyk Wine Estate

The fantastically popular Uitkyk pancake-and-wine pairings are back this winter season. A delicious way to spend your Saturday this tasting offers a scrumptious selection of five pancakes, prepared with various fillings, presented to guests on a wooden platter with five wines, all produced on the Uitkyk Estate.

Creative Block pairings at Spier

Created by Chef Charl Coetzee and sommelier Welma Beukes, this gourmet food pairing features Creative Block 2, 3 and 5 as well as Spier’s Late Bottled Vintage 2007 – a collaboration that both honours individual flavours, as well enhances them to form new ones. And, of course, a chocolate to completment each one!

Delheim’s signature foursome includes an exotic pomegranate cupcake, matched with the ever-popular Delheim Pinotage Rosé, for a fun, fruity and fresh start. A Rooibos cupcake infused with lemon and topped with a cream cheese and honey icing, is paired with the Delheim Chenin Blanc Wild Ferment. Morgenster’s NEW Italian wine and chocolate pairing

Visitors to Morgenster’s tasting room on the Estate in Somerset West outside Cape Town can enjoy a new experience, a wine tasting of owner Giulio Bertrand’s Italian Collection wines paired with specially selected artisan chocolates. Named for Bertrand’s love of Italian opera, the three Morgenster Italian Collection wines are grown and produced in South Africa from Italian varieties. Each has been matched with strikingly different chocolates handmade by local chocolatier Jane Stewart from finest quality Belgian chocolate.
