Royale Opens New 50s-style Takeaway Burger Joint in Cape Town!
We all know that Royale Eatery makes the best burgers in Cape Town, but just when you thought that they couldn’t possibly get any more awesome they go and do this! If you ever wished that the king of burgers in Cape Town would open up a second restaurant well then your wish has been granted because the guys behind Royale Eatery and El Burro have just announced that they will be opening up a new burger joint in Cape Town. Junior, will be the baby sister restaurant to the oh-so-awesome Royale Eatery and we can’t wait to bite into one of their creations! Here’s all the info on the new Cape Town burger spot opening this week!
The tiny burger restaurant is set to open next door to the brand new El Burro, Taqueria on Kloof Nek Road, Tamboerskloof and it looks like they are gearing up to set the burger world on fire once again. On their Instagram account the restaurant announced that they will be making their own fresh burger buns every day and will be serving up a variety of freshly made burger patties including 100% beef patties, veggie burgers, and fish burgers! It’s all about fast food made well!
Judging from their menu and decor it looks like Junior will be a modern take on the old American-style road houses we loved as children (just without the car park dining). Food will be served on plastic trays from the counter and can be enoyed at one of the basic tables inside the eatery or at home on the comfort of your couch. The menu is quite simple but sounds oh-so-good! Alongside classic burgers, you will find chilli cheese fries, coleslaw, assorted baked and fried doughnuts, shakes, craft beers, and a range of homemade drinks including homemade lemonade.
If you’re tired of boring old, cardboard takeaway burgers but love nothing more than enjoying a delicious takeaway burger and fries on the couch, then Junior will be a lifesaver for you! The new spot wants to change the takeaway game by making fast food that matters… and that won’t turn to tasteless mush if left to stand for too long. We love the sound of the Peanut Butter and Banana shake (R38) and if Royale’s milkshakes are anything to go by then we can be sure it will be a taste sensation of note. Burgers start from R38 each and reach up to R58 for a Double Trouble burger with all the trimmings (2 beef patties, 2 slices of cheese, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, onion, and Junior sauce).
Junior is set to open at 18:00 today (Wednesday 16 September) and will be open seven days a week from 11:00 – 23:00. For more information on the eatery check out their Instagram account.
