Great news for Entertainer fans, you can now get even more bang for your 2-for-1 buck with Entertainer in 2017. The much-loved app is taking it one step further than buy-one-get-one-free meals with the launch of Entertainer Cheers. Offering hundreds of exclusive 2-for-1 drinks offers at a wide range of spots in Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Durban, Cheers is sure to help you save loads of money when socialising in 2017. Plus, the best bit is Entertainer Cheers currently comes free with the purchase of your app on the Entertainer website, or when bought directly through the Entertainer app! We put the new feature to the test to see how much value it really adds to the Entertainer package. **Psst, we’re also giving away The Entertainer apps to lucky readers in Cape Town, Joburg, and Durban. Keep reading to see how you can win!
For those who are unfamiliar with the new offering, Entertainer Cheers includes a variety of two-for-one drinks offers for app users to enjoy. These include everything from single beverage offers to bottles of beverages and speciality drinks such as cocktails, shots and craft beer. And, like all Entertainer products, there are three offers to take advantage of at each merchant. These offers are always ‘buy one get one free’ and are valid seven days a week (excluding public holidays), so you have the flexibility to save at your favourite party spots whenever the opportunity arises. Of course, in true Entertainer style the spots offering the Cheers deals are some of the best spots in the respective cities.
I tried out the Cape Town version and was very impressed with the offerings on the app. Think 2-for-1 drinks at the likes of HQ, Mother’s Ruin Gin Bar, Devil’s Peak Brewing Company, The Station on Bree, and The Odyssey. I was also excited to see that some of the restaurants offering meal offers also had drinks offers on the app so the opportunities to save when you’re having dinner and drinks are even greater.
But how much are you really saving with Entertainer Cheers? Let’s do the maths, over one weekend in Cape Town shall we? On Friday night in Cape Town you can pop into Salt Yard in Mowbray for cocktails and get one cocktail free when a cocktail of equal or greater value is purchased. If you order a Wicked Pina Colada at R59.95 then you, or your plus-one, can enjoy an AMA-zing Strawberry Daiquiri (R55.95) free of charge. Of course, no night in Cape Town is complete without visiting at least one more spot so you head to Jamaican me Crazy in Woodstock for a bite to eat and few more drinks. Even if you don’t decide to take advantage of the buy-one-get-one-free pizza or burger deals on Entertainer from this spot you can still enjoy a free glass of wine when a glass of wine of equal or greater value is purchased. So, you opt for a glass of Beachhouse Sauvignon Blanc at R27 while your date sips on a free glass of Beachhouse Rose (R27).
Saturday night rolls around and you’re in the mood for a real party so you head off to The Odyssey on Bree Street where you enjoy a free bottle of wine with your meal after ordering a bottle of Splattered Toad Sauvignon Blanc at R125. From there it’s time to add some Cuban flavour to your night so you’re off to Buena Vista Social Cafe on Long Street for cocktails. You order a classic Mojito at R49 and get a Strawberry Mojito of the same value free. You decide to stay a while and use your remaining two voucher offers to score 2 more free cocktails through the night before heading home, saving another R98! So, over two nights out, not counting in the food discounts you scored with The Entertainer app you will have saved a total of R355. Which is pretty amazing considering it comes free with The Entertainer app.
If you’re all about maximising your savings when heading out with your mates then over two nights in Cape Town you will have saved a total of R355 on drinks alone, yup that’s not counting in the food discounts you scored with The Entertainer app. For me, that’s pretty amazing considering it comes free when you buy The Entertainer app. I’ve been using The Entertainer for two years now and am still super happy with the value the app provides. Of course, to get the maximum amount of value out of it, you do need to be proactive and make sure you mostly visit Entertainer merchants but trust me there are so many great spots to choose from you’ll be spoilt for choice.
Want to get involved and start saving? The Entertainer (with Entertainer Cheers) Cape Town and Johannesburg is available to purchase for R495 and Durban at R395 on the Entertainer website or app. The Entertainer app is available for download on Android and iOS.
