There’s something magical about the end of year summer break in South Africa. Call me crazy but this time of year oozes a feeling of hope and a sense adventure, and if nothing else, your fragrance should reflect that. So whether you’re dropping hints to your loved ones on what perfume you want for Christmas or just spoiling yourself for all the hard work you’ve done this year here are my top 3 fabulous fragrances for the summer season.
Giorgio Beverly Hills EDT
This intense, daring and warm floral fragrance oozes luxury and is the perfect choice for sassy ladies who want to turn heads. I feel like a strong, independent woman, with an oh-so-feminine flair, when I wear this fragrance and I love it! This EDT exudes a heady bouquet of white flowers: Jasmine and Tuberose establish their strength in the middle notes, while Orange Blossom and Bergamot offer a fresh surge and fruity top notes. Ylang Ylang, the ultimate flower of seduction, creates a perfect harmony with the Sandalwood, Patchouli and Vanilla base notes. Generous, and concentrated, it conjures up sunny, facetious and free opulence.
Giorgio Beverly Hills EDT 30ml and 90ml is available exclusively to selected Edgars stores at R535 for the 90ml bottle.
Optiphi Adagio EDT
The South African skin care brand launched this light fragrance a few months ago and I’m still loving it! Optiphi says the clean, fresh perfume was inspired by the way a composer would create a piece of music, layer by layer. The first layer offers uplifting notes of pink pepper and bergamot while in the centre you’ll find soft florals notes like lily honeysuckle and rose. And, to complete the masterpiece, at the base there’s a whisper of musk, sandalwood and patchouli. This fragrance reminds me of summer holidays spent by the ocean and it’s a great choice for ladies who want a subtle, gentle everyday perfume.
Optiphi’s Adagio EDT is available from selected salons at R695 for 50ml.
L’OCCITANE Arlésienne EDT
This fresh, floral wonder from L’OCCITANE unfolds like a bouquet of flowers, with a captivating trail. The supreme elegance of a velvety rose, irresistible violet, and spicy notes of saffron all come together to create a hypnotic sensuality. This fragrance is soft yet oh-so-bold and I can’t get enough of it. Top notes of bold, crisp, galbanum and the delicious almondy scent of hawthorn create a sparkling freshness that leaves you wanting more. In the middle you’ll be met with rose petals and an unexpected green and aromatic note of violet. And, finally, white musk gives a smooth, creamy touch and envelops this floral beauty in an irresistibly feminine sensuality. This perfume oozes romance for me and is my go-to fragrance for date night with the boyfriend.
L’OCCITANE Arlésienne EDT is available from L’OCCITANE stores nationwide at R990 for 75ml.
