Cape Town’s Favourite Boutique Wine Bar to Open Joburg Branch!

Rosebank is about to step-up its game with the opening of a brand-new neighbourhood wine bar. The team behind Cape Town’s popular wino hangout, Publik Wine Bar, has announced plans to launch a branch in Joburg, offering Joburg-based wine lovers a new place to discover some of the best boutique wines South Africa has to offer.

Opening in February, the intimate new bar will boast a similar vibe to that of its existing space in the Cape and will feature an ever changing menu of artisanal wines, charcuterie, cheeses and other delicious bar snacks to nibble on while you sip away. The bar’s aim is to create a space for discovering wines beyond the usual commercial brands, expanding the market for craft wines.

Known for being the place to go to sample small batch and exciting off-the-beaten-track wines, Publik is sure to be a hit in Joburg. Think bottles from lesser-known local and international producers such as Donkiesbaai, Raised by Wolves and Lowerland, paired with bowls of giant olives, rosemary-roasted nuts, prosciutto and a selection of aged cheese. Publik will also have local craft beers, G&Ts and a selection of whiskies, which will be exclusive to the Rosebank outlet.
